Great location for access to the NEC, a very average experience for a very reasonable price. You receive all you would expect in a hotel including a very mediocre breakfast that is also reasonably priced, clean towels and soaps, room kettle, teas and biscuits, comfy clean bed and a sufficiently cleaned room with good working en-suite shower, and free Wi-Fi (though coverage is hit and miss)
With real fires and traditional food, this 17th-century coaching inn located in Meridien is only 20 minutes’ drive from the center of Birmingham. It has elegant bedrooms with free toiletries.

Wow! We have used your restaurant for years but never stayed before as we are local but we decided to stay as an anniversary teat. Firstly we had a lovely meal in the restaurant, there was a great atmosphere, staff were friendly and cocktails were lovely.
We checked in and the team member that checked us in was helpful and explained everything to us. The room truly surprised us. It was newly refurbished to the highest standard. The room was something you'd expect to pay almost triple the price for in other areas. The best part was the bed, one of the comfiest beds we've stayed in at a hotel. We were truly blown away by this stay and will be returning.
Thank you so much

Excellent location; perfect for the NEC and easy to reach. Breakfast was very good & you could virtually have whatever you liked (Bacon sandwich was a must!). The hospitality of the hosts was second to none; the personal touch really does make a difference. I'd stay here again without hesitation & this is one of the best guesthouses I've ever stayed in.

very nicely decorated and functional apartment, the hot chocolate was a nice touch as I arrived at 2am LOL The owners clearly have put a lot of love into this place. Perfect stay.

Good range of choice for breakfast, close to the NEC, and the staff greet you and are helpful.
The village is just a short walk from the guesthouse.
The village is just a short walk from the guesthouse. The village is interesting with a large village pond, village green with a monument to cyclists, two grocery stores, a chemist and two really good pubs that do food. Lots of footpaths and the odd thatched cottage are in the neighbourhood. It's about 9 miles from the NEC. The bus service seems to be good too.
We had an excellent evening meal at the Strawberry gardens. I suggest booking a table in advance though, they were very good and fitted us in on a very busy Friday night. It was a later dinner than we'd hoped but it was good quality food and service.

Reception staff were good. The buffet breakfast was good.
Reception staff were good. The buffet breakfast was good. The kettle i the room was dirty inside so I passed on tea and coffee. The room was cold there was a heater but I couldn't get it to work. Dinner was nice but it took an hour and a half to get a burger.

The best thing about this hotel was the quality of the food.
The best thing about this hotel was the quality of the food. The menu and specials were the same for both evenings but there was plenty of choice. The restaurant was full on the Friday night and service team were great. I would definately dine there if I was a local. The one negative for me was although the stylised subdued lighting was perfect for an evening in the pub and maybe setting off to bed, there was insufficient light to get ready to go out. Room 12s window overlooked the courtyard shared by the restaurant so the blind could not be fully pulled up either. The food was so nice though!!

Nice location close to the NEC but no lift for heavy suitcases, poor expensive evening meal from Marco franchise unless you like burger and lots of fancy chips, no fridge and other issues with room 101, generally we were disappointed for a best western, thankfully the Bear Inn is not to far away who served fantastic pub food and better wine

Abismal! We arrived to an extremely busy pub.
Abismal! We arrived to an extremely busy pub. We stood at the check in desk which was covered with dirty plates for ages. No one would acknowledge us, we were totally invisible, eventually one of the barmaids checked us in. Room was nicely decorated however the bathroom skirting was all black mould as was the base of the shower. The window sash cord was dangling but the worst was that we had no view whatsoever from the window! We had a brick wall and roof within touching distance. This restricted daylight should be highlighted on the booking information to give you a choice if you want to continue with the booking or not, I certainly wouldn’t have. Although this is a pub we are still paying hotel prices!
Again for dinner the pub was stupidly busy, and everyone was stood waiting for their tables. We were supposed to eat in the restaurant however we were eventually given a table just at the bottom of the stairs. Service was extremely slow but food was ok but it is expensive. Breakfast is another story; no cereal or fruit for breakfast, not enough cups, the boiler was empty, the juice was empty, the service was very very slow. To top it all the cleaner was vacuuming around other guests tables! The place is totally badly managed so won’t be back!!

Great and quiet place.
Great and quiet place. Short distance to Birmingham, short distance to fuel station. Post office right in front of the hotel. Great to work, leisure. Hotel restaurant is just owesome - fish highly recommended, same as burgers!
Visited here as I was travelling for the Arnold Classic event held at Birmingham NEC really glad I found this place! It's not your usual hotel it's got more of a homely feel to it and the staff go beyond to meet expectations. Lovely and clean room no complaints there and a comfy bed! Freshly cooked breakfast every morning, Plenty of options on breakfast and drink. Will be back!
Really friendly and helpful staff. Everything was clean and room had everthing you needed. Restaurant and bar on site for breakfast or other meals if you require. We booked to go to the commonwealth games and was impressed with the price whereas other hotels seemed to be charging silly prices. Easy to get about to the various sites as bus stop almost outside hotel.
Nice interior design, staff were all very lovely and very nice! They were all very tentative and friendly
Also big hats off to the chefs. The food stunned me, I did not have any expectations for boutique hotels restaurants but the menu was very appealing and the food quality was very very good! I highly recommend the pork belly with scallops!!
I liked the location of the hotel, close by to a wedding we was attending just down the road. The hotel was easy to find, and plenty of free car parking spaces. The staff were friendly, rooms clean and tidy and quiet enough to sleep well. Just the right temperature too.
Great location for meriden on a very nice housing estate. Room to park on the drive. Very large apartment with microwave oven fridge and all utensils you could possibly require. Nice lounge area and dining table area with tv in the lounge.
Dinner in the restaurant was excellent, as was the 'buffet-style' breakfast in the morning, and the service. Great location, only 15 mins from Birmingham Business Park/NEC but quiet - lovely garden and view at the rear of the hotel!
The hotel was very well presented, everything was clean and comfortable, our evening meal was a real disappointment. The waiting staff were really nice and attentive but the food didn't meet expectations.
I stayed for 2 nights, the hotel was larger than I thought, it was clean & tidy, it was busy but my room was quiet and very comfortable and the breakfast was good value for money.
