"Great Period Hotel no frills, absolutely central one bridge away from the Ponte Vechia easy reach of all Florence and its historical centres" (99853431)
It was very central in Florence one bridge down from the Ponte Vechia absolutely the ideal position for a stay
The hotel was situated in an old Palace so it was far from new so you have to say it had its own unique style which favours fans of older hotels If you where looking for luxury this was not it. Breakfast was a bit packaged would prefer fresh bread otherwise adequate

"We arrived in Rome early in the morning with plans for a days sight-seeing and moving on to florence by eurostar in the evening. unfotunately when we got to rome ryanair ( ruinair? ) had lost our luggage. this ( long ) weekend break was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. it's now a week later, we are back home, and we still haven't received our cases. i mention this because we told the reception staff at the bretagne of our problem and they could not have been more helpful and sympathetic, but in a positive way. between them they spent many hours telephoning ruinair / ciampino airport to try to trace our luggage. A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF. .... now the hotel. For travellers used to hotel chains i.e. the same room duplicated in different towns across a country the bretagne will not suit but if you prefer hotels to have their own character, with a range of room standards ( and prices ) and maybe just a little quirky the bretagne is for you. would i recommend the hotel? ... without question - we are already planning our next visit!"
