"Hotel was in a great location for us. Though didn't feel it perited the money we paid. Have said i would stay at this hotel again but would ask a few questions before commiting a booking." (97910390)
Found some of the staff very unfriendly and when we enquired about no curtains in our bathrooms as one was looking straight into the middle of central station another had other windows facing theirs staff passed on to different departments within the hotel. Felt i could not put my light on in bathroom while having a shower in the evening as felt very intimidated.

Good position in city centre Very large room - well sound proofed
Hotel in need of full redecoration - bathroom floor tiles loose - not good for walking on in barefeet. Breakfast very poor - cold, fatty - dining room poorly lit.

the location of the hotel was very good, with lots of shops and bars in the vicinty.
the hotel was quite run down and was not worth £125 plus a £50 deposit for a room for damages, there wasnt much more damage to be done.we went to bed at approx 11.45 and were still awake at 3.0am listening to the club music from down below.

"The stay was fine, despite of the hotel." (107275885)
availability of rooms
too many - this was no value for money, compared to many similar hotels around Europe. Staff, rooms, environment: everything was in bad shape. This is a pity, for Glasgow is a great town with many more opportunities. We were visiting as a group to research the Rennie Mackintosh legacy. The Quality Hotel is certainly no part of this!

we could see that the hotel once was a grand lady but not any longer.locality good.
lifts not working at all.had to carry our bags up to 4th floor with no help offered.my wife has limited lung function and could hardly breathe once we got to the top.room much smaller than expected with no air.lots of breakfast but most of the hot food lying in hot water.

"This hotel could be stunning. It is a lovely old Victorian Station Hotel, with a great central location, but it has been allowed to rot away, and the fixtures and fittings are old and tatty. Furniture and carpets in the rooms has been renewed, but the quality is fairly poor. We had a broken toilet seat, cigarette ends outside the bedroom window and the bath was dirty. Reception was unmanned much of the time, although staff were friendly. Very noisy at night, as the hotel is on a 'party' street! " (97882574)
Stunning old Victorian hotel which has the most marvellous features.
The hotel has the potential to be absolutely beautiful, but it needs a lot of money spent on it, to bring it up to a decent standard. The rooms have had new furniture, but the small points have been missed. Cigarette ends outside the window, dirty bathroom, loo seat broken.

"With the fantastic rate we were given for this overnight stay, we were not expecting a 5 star experience, however we did not expect to get transported to what felt like the mid 70's. This hotel is so tired it is almost asleep! What must foreign travellers think of Scotland when they arrive at this hotel (and some paying over £120 a night!) From the black masking tape covering the joins in the carpert, of which there are 2 or possibly 3 different styles on the main staircase, to the scalding hot water in the shower. This essentially was not really a problem as due to the fact the shower had the speed and water capacity of a water pistol." (97900372)
location and breakfast
decor - in need of a refurb, bathroom facilities poor and again in need of an upgrade

"We did receive help from the manager who accomodated us in another room we had no problem with." (107238085)
Room was disgusting with sick down both sides of the bed, dampness in both the room and bathroom and with an overpowering damp smell throughout. This hotel has been badly neglected for a number of years and as such is more akin to a very poor hostel. Maybe backpackers could handle this but do not go if you are on a night out in Glasgow.

"There were smashed windows, dirty stained beds, limescale and rot EVERYWHERE in the bathroom, only 2 of the light fittings worked - it was just dreadful. Wallpaper coming away from the walls, corners of walls rotting away I could go on. The hotel should be aware that I have taken photographs and will be taking this further. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. Despite its central location - there are many other hotels nearby." (97078043)

"This is not a luxury hotel. It is perfectly located next to the central station building making it very easy to find. It is ideal for travelers using the train to and from Prestwick airport. The room was simple and clean. The furniture was adequate, but the bathroom looked a bit worn. Considering the price it was not too bad, however next time I would rather go for something a bit more up market." (97152386)
Central location, easy access from train station
The lift was out of order, room on the fourth floor. Loud guests late at night during the weekend. Spill in the reception area was not cleaned quickly.

"The hotel in general was tired and really needed urgent refurbishment , starting with a good carpet clean! Our wall paper was coming off the wall and bathroom tiles were only clean as high as the house-keeper could reach and the shower mixer valve was broken. The room was pretty cold even though the radiators were on." (97229083)
Very central location.
There was no parking, very difficult to find by car due to bus and taxi only streets.

"I would have like to have known that the hotel is on a pedestrianised street; that the hotel has no parking facilities and is surrounded by a one-way road system. I chose this hotel becasue of its lesiure facilities. The door leading to the lesiure centre had a notice stating leiasue facilties closed until further notice. The receptionist said the facilities were open and gave me directions at street level, which were impossible to find.Another staff member gave me completely different directions on the second floor and to the left. Which were toatally wrong. A sign on the lift said press B for lesiure centre. The lift took me to the bowels of the hotelwhich was dirty, dank and no sign of the leisure faciliies." (97081134)

"Our overnight stay was comfortable enough, however, there is no instructions in rooms on how to phone down to reception, I was not the only one who had to walk down three flights of stairs, (as lifts very slow)to arrange for room service, or articles that should be in room were not there. I had to do this twice. In fact no instructions in room for anything. On the whole, our stay was good." (97822937)
The building is fantastic
Could do with an uplift, however, i am aware this would be extremely expensive

It was central
The Hotel entrance, lobby and corridors were dirty and badly kept. It was very expensive for the quality of the accomadation and not what I was expecting. The room was clean, but very small. The corridor leading to the leisure centre was very dirty, dark. It is a great pity as the building is a part of Glasgows history. I am sorry to say that I would not recommend this hotel to anybody.

"Much as I enjoy staying at this wonderful victorian railway hotel, there are areas of the vast building as yet unrefurbished which are not pleasant or welcoming. I was unlucky enough to be allocated one of these rooms during my stay. The doors are ill-fitting and locks insecure (a traditional key means you are in an unrefurbished room here). The room was in a small court of rooms off the long corridor, and several of the rooms were disused junk stores. There was an unpleasant damp smell in my room which emanated from these storage areas. If only all of the rooms were up to the same standard this hotel would be perfect." (99901075)
The hotel is perfectly situated for the railway station, and for all the amenities of the city centre.
Some parts of the hotel are tired and in need of repair and refreshment.

"The accomodation was what I expected - for the price it really was fine; however, I do think that the hotel has the opportunity to become something quite special if it were sympathetically and appropiately rennovated. Whomever decided to install the air conditioning units with the exposed cables what were previously stunningly grand hallways really deserves to be (well...)" (97993166)

I liked the location as I was travelling by train and it still has some of the original features of a once grand hotel.
The hotel needs a facelift, as the corridors smelled of damp and the leisure facillities were a bit tired.

"We arrived a little early and were so lucky that our room was ready. We stayed fore two days after wonderful ten days journey in the Highlands. The room was an en-suite Family room with bath & shower and it was big and comfortable. The service was all right but not very personal. We did not try the restaurant at the hotel and our friend advised us not to eat breakfast at the hotel and it was any way too expensive. We did not spend much time at the hotel the two days as we were using the time to shop and enjoying Glasgow. Unfortunately we cant recommend this hotel to other people and we would not stay again there until it will be renewed." (99090668)
The size of the romm was big and comfortable
The Hotel is a little outworn and even thou it was quite clean it looked like it was dirty because off all the stains on the old carpet and the smell you could feel on the hallway. The fleecy cover on the bed was dirty and smells bad and I had to remove it from the bed so that I could sleep. Time to change the cover!
